Daniel R. Tipton, President and CEO

Dan is a savvy communications executive who brings more than 20 years of corporate, small business, and nonprofit communications experience to your service.

He founded Tipton Communications in 2005 after serving as director of communications for MBNA Corporation, a Fortune 200 company (now part of Bank of America), for more than a decade. During that time, Dan directed and developed an award-winning communications program, managed a multi-million dollar budget and a global staff of more than 20 talented communicators, and supported the company’s rapid growth around the world.

He is a graduate of the University of Delaware and also earned his MBA at the school. Dan now serves the University of Delaware as an adjunct professor in the Communication department. He also serves on the board of Junior Achievement of Delaware and formerly directed the Crozier Foundation, which has helped thousands of young people in Delaware and Canada.

 

 

Karen White, Creative Director

Karen joined Tipton Communications in early 2008 and has quickly earned accolades from the company’s clients for the consistent excellence and creativity of her design work. She has produced and managed a wide range of print and Web-based design work, e-newsletters and magazines for Fortune 500 clients, technology firms, and service industry leaders, as well as pro bono assignments for local not-for-profit agencies.

Karen previously served as art director at Siemens Medical and as freelance art director on projects for St. Francis Hospital, The University of the Arts, Alvernia College, Delaware County Community College, and many other organizations in the Philadelphia region.

Karen is a graduate of The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

 

 

Steven Groft, Senior Editorial Consultant

Steven joined Tipton Communications as a consultant in early 2010, and has instantly helped the agency as he brings more than two decades of communications experience and a proven record of accomplishment to the team. He will be assisting the agency with editorial work for various clients’ internal communications publications and marketing material.


Steven previously worked as Corporate Communications Manager for Access Group in Wilmington, Delaware as well as the International Reading Association and MBNA America/Bank of America. He is a graduate of the University of Baltimore.

 

 

Bill Jennings, Intern

Bill is Tipton Communications’ newest intern and brings added depth and social media experience to the Tipton team.


Bill is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a B.A. in English Business and Professional Writing and a Minor in Economics. As an undergraduate, he developed skills in writing, editing, graphics, document design, and management. He wrote articles for UD publications, edited international documents from China, was involved in creative brainstorming meetings, and edited websites for the University.


Following his graduation, he served as an Account Supervisor for an area marketing company. Bill was responsible for training and supervising entry-level employees as well as managing accounts, marketing new products, and generating revenue for Fortune 500 clients.


Bill is very excited to be a part of Tipton Communications.
